Check out this information from BearWise.org regarding bear safety and the steps you can take to prevent issues. Be BearWise.

For all concerns regarding bears please call: Rochelle Leppert (MNR Bear Specialist) at 705-491-5359.

The public works department is also asking for your help in ensuring that all household waste and recycling be placed in the designated location at the landfill. By placing waste in the designated area we can help reduce the bear population at our landfill site. This helps to ensure the safety of residents and landfill attendants alike.
