Mayor Paquette and Council are pleased to announce that Dr. Erwin Feige has joined the Bonfield Medical Center team.
Dr. Feige has practiced medicine for 41 years, 27 of those as a Director of the Diagnostic Sleep Clinic in North Bay. He is now returning to his roots in family medicine and hopes to help support healthy living for the people of Bonfield.
Dr. Steinberg retired in July of 2023 after joining the practice during the pandemic. He was instrumental in getting electronic patients records and modernizing the clinic. His well earned retirement left the community with no physician. In September of 2023 Dr. Fan Hsia Mang returned to the Medical Center as a locum and later joined as the lead physician.
During this time the Ministry of Health announced that a doctor allocation review showed the community of Bonfield needed a second doctor. Council began the recruitment process shortly thereafter, having long known that the community would benefit from additional health care services.
MPP Vic Fedeli attended the announcement this morning to welcome Dr. Feige and congratulate the community on securing additional health services in working with the Powassan and Area Family Health Team as well.
Dr. Feige will begin seeing patients in late May 2024. The focus will be on Bonfield and Rutherglen residents.
